CORALIA
Founded in 1982 by its current conductor, Dr. Carmen Acevedo Lucío, Coralia — Concert Choir of the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus — is a distinguished choral ensemble that forms part of the campus’s strong musical tradition, whose origins date back to 1936. The ensemble is composed of selected students and alumni of the University of Puerto Rico, recognized for their extensive experience and solid musical training.
Coralia has emerged as a high-level choral ensemble, dedicated to fostering the artistic development of its members and to the performance of repertoire that demands a high degree of technical, musical, and interpretive excellence. Its repertoire spans all historical musical periods, from Renaissance polyphony to contemporary works, and includes a strong commitment to folk, Latin American, and Puerto Rican music, contributing to the preservation and international projection of the island’s musical heritage.
